Interesting parts of my site:
- Latest News about us. Updated occasionally. My site now includes an RSS feed!
- My Resume
- Pictures - I've taken/designed most of these myself. Some of the ones in the "Older" category I "borrowed".
- Mustang - Information about my 2005 Mustang GT.
- Lyrics - A lyrics site I designed for T And J Enterprises. These used to exist in a huge HTML page on my site, but I sat down and made a searchable lyrics site for them.
- Poetry - Some poems I enjoy.
- Java Applets - Some random Java applets I wrote as part of a class at Clarkson.
- Simkins' Laws Of English - These were written in Jim Wilkinson's English class during 1996. Little did I know I'd end up becoming a TC, not an engineer!
- Book And Movie Quotes - Quotes from books and movies that I found interesting, or just plain cool.
- Reflections On The Implications Of Science In Music -- Chris, Justin and Tim's "Imagining Science" final project
Places I've Worked:
- Adelphia - "Your Link For Everything". I was employed by Adelphia for a number of years through high school and college, and I would be remiss in not giving them a plug on my site.
- Encon Safety Products - I worked for two summers making safety glasses in their factory in Coudersport.
- Prudential - I worked in the Enterprise Systems Management group at Prudential for five years.
- Syncsort, Inc - This was my "summer job" in 2005, until I got married and Kristen and I moved to Pennsylvania.
- C-COR - I worked at C-COR until April 2008
- Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences - I'm currently working at PSU as a web developer.
Technology Links:
- Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird - Replacements for Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Firefox is a great web browser that I use on both Windows and Linux. Thunderbird is an email client like Outlook Express. Both are much less prone to Windows virus and spyware problems.
- Slashdot - "News For Nerds", a great waste of time, and interesting commentary on current events in technology.
- Gentoo Linux - My Linux distribution of choice. It's somewhat involved, but it's fun to tinker with.
- Ubuntu Linux - A desktop Linux distribution based on Debian. This is a good one to start with.
- Apple's Macintosh OS X - This is my desktop operating system of choice. It's based on Unix, which has a reputation for security and reliability, and it shows! The user interface is both beautiful and functional. I've already converted my parents. Are you next?
- Mac OS X Hints - A great site for tips and tricks for OS X.
Off-Site Links:
- Wikipedia is "the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." If you're looking for general information, this is a great place to start.
- All Ford Mustangs forum. It has a lot of great folks, and lots of good advice on Mustangs.
- Zippo Lighter Bottom Stamps And Date Codes - I originally had posted a scanned image showing what the markings on the bottom of your Zippo meant. For those of you who are curious, they're date of manufacture stampings. However, they went and changed them AGAIN, so I'll post the link to the "Zippo Click Collector's Club" site. Please note that I no longer link to the main Zippo site, since it a) no longer contains this information and b) is done entirely in Macromedia Flash. Flash suffers from "style over substance" issues, and is often used in annoying banner ads and such. I personally discourage the use of Macromedia Flash in most applications.
- The Philosophy Generator - Justin Poirier's Bullshit (err... Philosophy) Generator. Automatically generates pages upon pages of "Philosophy".
- The Obsolete Computer Museum - For those of you with a sense of nostalgia for our silcon-based friends. I can still remember the big upgrade to 640K of RAM!
- The Internet Movie Database - A valuable resource for movie buffs.
- Clarkson University - I went, I failed, I switched majors, I graduated.
- Fester Cobb's Homepage
