Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...

Imagine there's no countries,
It isnt hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace...

Imagine no possesions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
imane all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say Im a dreamer,
but Im not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one
Imagine is basically an anti-modern
civilization song. Lennon
questions what life would be like
if we had no religion, no
countries, and no possessions.
These three things, all either
based on science or in conflict
with science, help to cause a lot
of the problems in the world today.
Lennon was questioning if, without
these things, we would be better
off. If we didn’t place so much
value on religion, our countries,
and our possessions, he says we
would be "a brotherhood of man"
with "Nothing to kill or die for"
and people would be "living for
today."
