Song: More Than A Feeling
Year: 1976
Top Chart Position: 5

I woke up this morning and the sun was gone,
Turned on some music to start my day.
I lost myself in a familiar song,
I closed my eyes and I slipped away.

Chorus :-
It's more than a feeling (more than a feeling)
When I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling).
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
Till I see Marianne walk away.
I see my Marianne walking away.

So many people have come and gone,
Their faces fade as the years go by;
Yet I still recall as I wander on,
As clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Chorus

[Guitar Solo]

When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day,
And dream of a girl I used to know.
I closed my eyes and she slipped away.

She slipped away.

Chorus
This song is included not because
of the message or ideas in it. In
fact it is included only as an
example of the work done by the
band Boston. Boston was the first
band to use "talent in a box"
effects. Their guitarist actually
graduated from MIT as an
Electronics Engineer, and as such,
he built all of their on-stage
effects. His wild creativity with
wires, vacuum tubes, and
transistors allowed to band to show
their explosive creativity with
sound. Effects such as distortion,
chorus and delay allowed the band
to explore a new horizon in sounds
that were not previously possible.
